They were thinking of Me

These magnets are after my own heart. Although at four bucks-a-pop, they're a little steep. All the same, I want them!

First Day!

Well today's the first day of school and I feel like I'm in high school, again. I at least got all of my classes that I wanted and don't have to crash any. This quarter should be interesting...to say the least. We shall see!

Weekend Update with Chevy Chase*

After hearing from both Emily and Andrea about how great the Morro Bay bike path is, I finally was able to get out there. Today couldn't have been a better day for a bike ride either. Andrea came with Ben's truck and picked Emily and I up. We were gone for a few hours and it was the perfect ending to a (too) short weekend. I also have to come clean about the picture...I didn't take it. Andrea took a nice shot but I had to beat her to the post so I was left to use Google to find a decent picture of "The Rock".

*Chevy Chase did not write this weekend update as it would have been much funnier...

Weekend Update

Well last weekend found me in San Diego. My Dad I rode in the Bike the Bay race down in Coronado. I requested Friday and Monday off so that I could ride the train down and back. It's an 8 hour and although it takes quite a bit longer to get down there (and getting your bike on is not very fun) it was well worth it. The route hugs the coastline and provides gorgeous ocean views. I took my laptop and listened to some music, and watched a few movies.

Mom picked me up from the train station on Friday and we hung out Friday night/Saturday morning. I spent the rest of the weekend with Dad and Kathe. It was great to spend some time with both sides of my family. A very enjoyable weekend indeed!

Finally...

I've finally been able to upload all of my pictures to Flickr! for your viewing pleasure. Not sure what the deal was on Monday, but I have a feeling the servers were all locked up with bar-b-q pictures. That's a favorite from the hike...

Flickr Sucks!

So there's no link to the pictures because Flickr will not work! I'm trying to upload my photos and it's doing every other one. Boo! In the four years I've had my account, I've never had an issue until today. So if you're wondering why there's no link to the pictures...

Foiled!

Okay maybe not like this guy, but our plans did get changed for the weekend. As you probably read, the original plan was for a bike ride in Morro Bay and a drive up to Santa Cruz. Well on saturday we did head over to Art's Cyclery and bought Emily a melon catcher (helmet), but instead of heading out to Morro Bay we hung around town. Morro Bay is just to beautiful to be ignored by tourists, which meant the bike path would have been murder. Instead, we rode on to campus where we saw a total of 1...2...3...4 - 4! people on campus. We got to inspect the new Poly Canyon Village housing area and just have a great time.

After we got back from our ride on Saturday, we started going over the plans for Santa Cruz (what time we wanted to leave, costs, etc.) and started having second thoughts. We realized that we needed to be good and save up for our New York trip that we're planning for the near future. So instead of Santa Cruz yesterday, we did nothing (except watch that horrible movie) but hang out. We decided to instead go on a hike today. There is a great little hiking trail just right off of the freeway that has a waterfall and some great foliage. Here's some great pictures taken by Emily, and some decent pictures taken by me. So that's it. A great cheap, relaxing and enjoyable weekend. What more could one ask for?
